This Privacy Policy describes how Picknick (“Picknick”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Picknick Host app, the Picknick Guest app, related websites (including picknickindia.com), and related services (together, the “Services”).

By using the Services, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

1. Who we are

Picknick is a platform that helps guests discover and book outdoor picnic spots, and helps hosts list and manage those spaces.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use the Services, we may collect:

• Account and contact details — such as phone number (including for OTP sign-in on the Host app), name, and email address. Guest sign-in may use email/password or Google Sign-In where enabled.
• Host profile and verification documents — such as PAN and GST details and uploaded document files used for host verification.
• Spot and booking data — listing details, location / map pin information you provide, photos, availability, and booking history.
• Payment information — payment-related identifiers (for example Razorpay payment or order IDs) associated with guest bookings. Card and bank details are processed by our payment partner; we do not store full card numbers on our servers.
• Device and usage data — such as app version, device type, and basic diagnostic or analytics information needed to operate and improve the Services.
• Communications — messages you send to us (for example support emails).

3. How we use information

We use the information above to:

• Create and manage accounts, and authenticate users (including OTP and Google Sign-In).
• Enable hosts to list spots and guests to discover and book them.
• Process payments and confirm bookings via payment partners such as Razorpay.
• Verify host identity and compliance (including KYC documents).
• Provide customer support and respond to requests.
• Maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our terms.
• Improve the Services and develop new features.
• Comply with applicable law and respond to lawful requests.

4. How we share information

We may share information with:

• Service providers who help us operate the Services, including Firebase (Google) for authentication, database, and file storage; Google Maps / Places for location features; and Razorpay for payment processing.
• Other users as needed to complete a booking (for example, limited host or guest details related to a confirmed booking).
• Authorities when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Data storage and security

We store data using infrastructure such as Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Cloud Storage for Firebase in the Picknick project. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

6. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services, meet legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account as described below; some records may be retained where required by law.

7. Your choices and rights

Subject to applicable law, you may:

• Access or update certain profile information in the apps.
• Request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you.
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent (without affecting prior lawful processing).

8. Children’s privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

9. Third-party services

The Services may link to or integrate third-party products (for example Google Sign-In, Google Maps, or Razorpay Checkout). Those services are governed by their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.

10. International users

Picknick is operated with a primary focus on users in India. If you access the Services from elsewhere, your information may be processed in India or other locations where our providers operate.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Services after changes means you accept the updated Policy.
